Wedding Arrangements
Early Arrangements 1. Call the church office, weekdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., at (330) 562-8266 as soon as possible to discuss dates and times with the Church Secretary in order to avoid conflicts with previous appointments on the church calendar. 2. One of our Ministers must serve as the primary officiant. 3. Speak to one of our Ministers to establish a firm date and set up an initial consultation for pre-marital counseling and wedding preparation. 4. If organ music is used in your ceremony, our organist must provide it. Contact the Organist as soon as possible to make sure he/she is available for your wedding date and for assistance in choosing appropriate music and recommendations on soloists if needed. 5. Call the church office to obtain a phone number for the organist. Important Information 1. The Marriage License should be delivered to the church two weeks before the wedding. Application for a Marriage License should be made to the residing county’s Probate Court no more than 60 days prior to the marriage ceremony. 2. Normally the church will be opened one hour before the scheduled ceremony time and closed one and one-half hours after the ceremony begins. 3. Rehearsals last approximately one hour. Promptness at the rehearsal and marriage ceremony is vital. 4. Florists should contact our Wedding Hostess to arrange a time for decorating the sanctuary. The Hostess will assist the wedding party during the rehearsal and wedding. 5. For fee information call the church office. (330) 562-8266 Additional Information The marriage ceremony is a service of worship before God, normally conducted within the House of God. Reverence will be expected on the part of all present. 1. The sanctuary seats a maximum of 280 guests. Each aisle is 40 feet long and 48 inches wide. 2. Rooms are available for the wedding party to change and gather in, as needed. 3. Consumption of alcoholic beverages and the use of illegal drugs are prohibited on all church property, including the parking lot. Smoking is prohibited in the church building. 4. Fire ordinances prohibit the use of aisle or window candles. Only ceremonial unity candles and church-provided altar candles are permitted. 5. Florists should use no tape or tacks. Hidden hooks for attaching floral arrangements are found on the ends of the pews. 6. We request that no rice or birdseed be thrown on the church premises. 7. Arrangements for photography and videotaping must be discussed with the Minister. Please arrange to have photos with the Minister taken immediately following the ceremony. Photo sessions should be confined to one hour after the conclusion of the ceremony. All photographs with backdrops are to be done prior to the wedding. 8. Information concerning the use of Fellowship Hall is available in a separate brochure.
