Mission & Vision

MISSION:

The purpose of this church shall be to bind together followers of Jesus Christ, to share in the worship of God, and to make God’s will dominant in their lives and in the world.

VISION:

The Church in Aurora is a church growing in understanding and striving for excellence in the teaching of God’s Word; seeking inspiration and guidance for living through Worship; becoming more caring and supportive of each other and to our community; and witnessing daily to the love of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

We fulfill this purpose by:

  • Holding Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and glorifying in the diversity of our membership.

  • Participating in inspirational worship focused on guidance for daily living, bringing the glory of God through striving for excellence in preaching and music.

  • Teaching the Word to our children and seeking greater adult understanding of Christ’s way through Christian Education and from the pulpit.

  • Staying mindful of the responsibility and joy of giving significantly of our time, talent and treasure to the work of the Lord.

  • Being warm and welcoming to all who worship with us.

  • Actively affirming and sustaining those who are members.

  • Fostering community and unity through fellowship and our common pilgrimage.

  • Maintaining a keen sense of our church’s historical heritage in the Western Reserve.

  • Dedicating a significant portion of our budget to Christian outreach, serving both local community needs and those in the wider world.

  • Providing many opportunities and encouragement for direct individual involvement and participation by our members in the work of the Lord, both within our walls and reaching out in service to others.
