Confirmation

Churches generally advocate that by 9th grade your teen is on the verge of adulthood and is able to  make independent decisions.  It is the intent of the Confirmation Class to help each student decide, by supplying as much information as possible, if now is the time to make a personal response to God - a response that is free from peer, teacher and parental pressures.  At the end of the church school year, those desiring to be confirmed will be a part of a special worship service.  Those that do not, will be assured of God's and our continuing love.

The Curriculum seeks to answer such questions as:

How did we get the Bible?

Who is God?

Why is Jesus so important?

What makes Christianity different?

There are also several field trips such as caving and water-rafting, which help reinforce class themes.

Classes meet every Sunday morning during the 9:30 worship hour, September through May at the Escape.  Rev. Kevin Horak oversees this important aspect of our youth's Christian Education with weekly teaching being done by lay teachers from the congregation.  Classes are open to any and all ninth graders.
