Volunteers of America
Some of our newer church family may not be aware that the Volunteers of
America maintains two men's shelters in downtown Cleveland. Here
temporary lodging and meals are provided and the men, many of them
veterans, are ministered to in other ways throughout the year.
This is a transient group and there are many continuing needs at the
shelters. For instance, when possible our food pantry tries to
supplement the shelter kitchens with supplies. Beginning this month,
the 3-H Circle
is reestablishing a program to collect men's toiletries for the
shelters. A basket will always be available in The Great Hall to
receive your donations of disposable razors,
shaving lotions and
creams,
deodorants,
tooth brushes,
tooth paste, bar soap,
towels, wash
cloths,
toilet paper and
paper towels. (NO Clothing Please!) This will be an ongoing project
to help these men. Please look for the basket near the Missions
